Lead Scrum Master

12 months

£61.57 per hour (Inside IR35)

3 days on site (Preston PR4)

Role Description

Here you will be working with teams of 10-13 like-minded professionals at different levels striving for best practice and operational excellence.

Core Duties:

Typical duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Working closely with product owners and other stakeholders to help them better understand their requirements and help the product owner define and maintain a well refined product backlog
  • Removing impediments so the development team can focus on the work at hand or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to help them
  • Using data collected from the development team to develop a picture of areas of success and improvement using the chosen system.
  • Assessing the Scrum maturity of the team/organisation, and coaching the team and more junior scrum masters to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation
  • Building a trusting and psychologically safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience of using Lean/Agile/Traditional techniques and methodologies (required)
  • Experience of working in agile teams for 5+ years (required)

Skills:

  • Ability to use appropriate toolsets, such as the Atlassian suite, SharePoint, Microsoft Office applications and develop and act on appropriate metrics (Required)
  • Strong leadership behaviours – able to manage 2 Scrum Teams of medium to high size and complexity (required)
  • Ability to Communicate effectively
  • Able to explore different ways and options to overcome obstacles and respond quickly to changing circumstances

Qualifications:

  • PSM1/CSM Qualifications or relevant experience (Essential)
  • APM qualification, or similar (Desirable)

About the team you’ll be working in

  • Expectation of 3 to 4 days a week on site, Mon-Thurs is preferred.
  • Whole project stands at approx. 250 people, with a each scrum team being roughly 5-10 people.
