Job Title

My client based in Edinburgh are looking for a Scrum Master to join them for an initial 3 months (Project Scope 9 months) to drive Agile ways of working, managing team delivery through Jira, facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coordinating dependencies and ensuring delivery progress is visible across multiple product teams. The role is Inside IR35, Hybrid in Edinburgh (2-3 days a week in the office).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Scrum Master across Product teams
  • Facilitate Spring Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Coach teams in Scrum and Agile best practice
  • Ensure Agile principles are understood, adopted and continuously improved
  • Remove delivery impediments and help teams maintain momentum
  • Protect teams from unnecessary disruption and competing priorities

Jira Administration and Delivery Governance

  • Own and administer Jira boards, workflows, permissions and reporting
  • Drive consistency in the use of Jira across the product teams
  • Support backlog management, sprint planning and prioritisation activities
  • Develop meaningful delivery reporting and dashboards
  • Recommend and implement any improvements to Jira configuration, if applicable

Planning and Dependency Management

  • Support quarterly planning and sprint planning activities
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams and third parties
  • Identify delivery risks across teams and third parties
  • Ensure alignment between strategic objectives, product road maps and sprint delivery
  • Support portfolio level reporting and delivery governance

Stakeholder engagement

  • Work closely with Product Owners and Technology Leadership to ensure a joined up approach to delivery
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions and retrospectives

Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of inspection, adaptation and continuous improvement
  • Coach teams towards greater agile maturity
  • Introduce practical improvements to delivery processes and tooling

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience operating as a Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead or Delivery Manager within Technology teams
  • Strong practical experience of Scrum, Kanban and Agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience configuring Jira workflows, boards, schemes, permissions and reporting
  • Experience managing delivery across multiple teams and work streams simultaneously
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience tracking risks, issues, cross dependencies and delivery progress
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced environment

Desirable Experience

  • Jira administration experience (not just end-user experience)
  • Experience working with Product Operating models
  • Experience in Digital, ERP, Business Systems or Technology Transformation Programmes
  • Experience working with external suppliers and implementation partners
