We’re looking for a 0.50 FTE Skills Development Coach (Business Industries) / 0.50 FTE Lecturer in Human Resource Management

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team in a unique dual-role opportunity, combining:

0.50 FTE Skills Development Coach – Business Industries

0.50 FTE Lecturer in Human Resource Management

This exciting position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting learner success while also delivering high-quality specialist teaching in Human Resource Management. You will play a key role in enhancing the learner experience, supporting student progress, and preparing learners for successful careers in business and people management.

As a Skills Development Coach, you will support learners across Business study programmes through academic coaching, course review sessions, enrichment activities, and targeted interventions to remove barriers to learning.

As a Lecturer in Human Resource Management, you will deliver engaging and inspiring teaching across Level 3 and Level 5 HR programmes, bringing professional HR practice to life through innovative teaching and industry-relevant learning experiences.

This role would suit either an experienced educator or an HR professional looking to move into teaching and learner development.

Responsibilities For The Role

0.50 FTE Skills Development Coach Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging weekly course review sessions across Business study programmes.
  • Support learners to improve attendance, engagement, achievement, and progression.
  • Identify obstacles to learning and develop effective support strategies.
  • Deliver personal development activities and learner support interventions.
  • Provide enrichment opportunities through clubs, competitions, employer events, and wider college activities.
  • Support the delivery of college strategic priorities and learner success measures.
  • Maintain high standards in line with college quality expectations and Ofsted requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to enhance learner outcomes and experiences.

0.50 FTE Lecturer In Human Resource Management Responsibilities

  • Deliver teaching across a range of HR subjects including:
    • Recruitment and Selection
    • Employee Relations
    • Employment Law
    • Learning and Development
    • Performance Management
    • Talent Management
    • Organisational Behaviour
    • Contemporary HR Practice
  • Develop high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
  • Assess and mark learner work in accordance with awarding body requirements.
  • Provide academic, tutorial, and pastoral support to learners.
  • Monitor learner attendance, engagement, achievement, and progression.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities including standardisation and internal verification.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
  • Support learner recruitment, inductions, employer engagement, and promotional events.
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, equality, diversity, and inclusion requirements.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain current industry and educational knowledge.

The site is based at Remote with expectations to travel to campus sites where needed

    • Qualified £14,181 - £15,946

SDC Role

  • 0.5 FTE – 18.5 hours
    • £15,033 - £17,940

Both Roles

  • 1 FTE – 37 hours
    • Unqualified £29,214 – £32,367
    • Qualified £31,097 – £33,886
