Senior SEO Account Manager / Account Director (Contract)

📍 Location: London, UK (Hybrid – Tuesday & Thursday in office) 🕒 Start: ASAP

We are partnering with a leading digital marketing agency to find an experienced Senior SEO Account Manager / Account Director to support two high-profile global clients.

The Role

As Senior SEO Account Manager / Account Director, you will be responsible for developing and delivering SEO strategies across multiple client accounts, with a particular focus on technical SEO, website migrations, and organic growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading SEO strategy and delivery across multiple client accounts
  • Managing day-to-day client relationships and acting as the primary SEO contact
  • Conducting comprehensive technical SEO audits and identifying opportunities for optimisation
  • Supporting and leading website migration projects, ensuring SEO performance is protected throughout planning, implementation, and post-launch
  • Developing technical SEO recommendations covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and performance
  • Collaborating with content teams to deliver SEO-driven content strategies, keyword research, and on-page optimisation recommendations
  • Monitoring organic search performance and providing regular reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations
  • Working closely with developers, UX teams, and analytics specialists to ensure SEO best practices are implemented
  • Staying up to date with search engine algorithm updates, industry trends, and emerging SEO technologies
  • Supporting wider business development opportunities where required through SEO expertise and strategic input

You – Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in SEO, with experience operating at Senior Account Manager or Account Director level in an agency environment
  • Strong technical SEO expertise with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Proven experience delivering successful website migration projects
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO including crawl optimisation, indexation, site architecture, JavaScript SEO, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and log file analysis
  • Experience developing SEO content strategies alongside technical optimisation
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience presenting SEO strategies and performance insights to clients and senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using SEO performance data to drive recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced agency environment
