We’re Ocado Retail, a market-leading joint venture between Ocado Group and M&S, and the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket, ocado.com. Not only is Ocado the only place to shop a full range of M&S food online, it’s also the home to the widest online supermarket range in the UK and champion of small, independent brands. We’re also the brains behind Zoom by Ocado, our same-day grocery delivery service.
About The Team And The Role
This hands-on, forward-thinking role is perfect for an ambitious digital marketer with a foundational background in search marketing who is looking to pioneer the future of customer acquisition, reporting to our SEO Manager in the Digital Marketing and Acquisition team.
A key aspect of the role is helping grow Ocado’s visibility across both traditional search engines and emerging AI search experiences. Working closely with teams across Marketing, Product and Commerce, you’ll help ensure Ocado’s brand, products and value propositions are easy to discover, trusted, and visible wherever customers search.
What You’ll Do
- Performance Monitoring & Integrated Search Reporting: Track and analyse organic visibility, keyword performance, AI search presence (AEO) and paid search trends. Produce weekly and monthly integrated search reports identifying key insights, opportunities and actions across total search performance.
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): Support the implementation of SEO best practices across priority site areas, including categories, recipes, editorial content and seasonal campaigns. Conduct keyword research, identify optimisation opportunities, prepare SEO briefs, optimise on-page elements, and work with Merchandising, Product and Content teams to improve organic performance.
- Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) & AI Search: Support the delivery of AI Search Initiatives by monitoring AI visibility, analysing responses, implementing optimisation recommendations, and contributing to experiments that improve Ocado’s representation across AI search platforms.
- PPC & Search Integration: Collaborate closely with our Paid Search team to align organic, AI, and paid search tactics. Share keyword insights, support testing, and monitor total search engine share-of-voice to identify efficiency wins where paid, organic, and AI search can support one another.
- Content: Partner with in-house Creative teams and external suppliers to identify optimisation opportunities, prepare SEO briefs, review copy, and support the implementation of content improvements across commercial and editorial pages.
- Search Trends & Insights: Monitor search engine algorithm updates, AI platform developments, and emerging search trends. Share actionable insights and recommendations with SEO, PPC, and wider Digital Marketing team.
- Billing & Admin: Support the team with supplier administration, including raising purchase orders and processing invoices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
