The Search & Performance Lead Role
The Search & Performance Lead will join the Performance Media team, working alongside the Search Lead to shape and execute PlayStation’s global performance media strategy across the portfolio.
This role focuses on driving engagement, purchases, and product discovery for current and prospective PlayStation customers. In collaboration with internal stakeholders, global territories, and external agency partners, the Search & Performance Lead will:
- Shape performance media initiatives.
- Identify business-growth opportunities across the PlayStation ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Expected duties include—but are not limited to—the following:
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with the paid media agency, ensuring high-quality execution and delivery against business objectives.
- Partner with internal teams to execute performance media initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of campaign details and creative.
- Develop and optimize search strategies to improve campaign performance and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Monitor campaign performance, identify optimisation opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations to achieve KPIs.
- Apply and optimize automated bidding strategies (e.g., tCPA, tROAS) to maximise efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and maintain performance reporting and dashboards.
- Deliver ad hoc, monthly, and quarterly performance insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Work with the paid media agency to identify testing opportunities, evaluate results, and implement learnings for continuous improvement.
- Scout innovation opportunities across Search, Retail Search, and other performance media channels to fuel growth.
- Champion automation, AI, and measurement innovations to enhance campaign performance and operational efficiency.
- Stay current with performance media and search marketing trends, platform updates, best practices, and emerging technologies.

What We’re Looking For
Core Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Paid Search, with exposure to other performance media channels.
- Advanced knowledge of search & biddable principles and their applications.
- Strong collaboration skills, including communicating, coordinating, building consensus, influencing without formal authority, and adapting to different perspectives.
- Deep expertise in automated search bidding strategies (e.g., target CPA, target ROAS).
- Exceptional analytical capabilities, with the ability to convert trends into actionable insights and hypotheses.
- Experience with bid management, analytics, and competitive insights tools (e.g., Search Ads 360).
- Understanding of international or global media landscapes.
- A track record of driving performance, whether in-house or in an agency role.
- Familiarity with SEO principles.
- Experience managing across multiple product lines or business units for a brand.
- Aware of agency tasks and deliverables.
Preferred Qualities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A forward-thinking leader able to define, implement, and scale sustainable processes for a growing team.
- Experience managing changing processes, objectives, and deliverables across multiple teams.
- Prior experience working in EMEA, LATAM, ASIA, or other non-US/CA territories.
- Exposure to entertainment or gaming brands—preferably PlayStation.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.
- A self-starter with passion, energy, and enthusiasm, prioritising results and driving meaningful change.
- A strong interest in video games and entertainment.
