Customers & Retail Assistant Role

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the following availability windows:

Tesco Colleague Pay

  • Starts at £13.28 per hour, rising to £14.55 for locations within the M25
  • Some locations may offer additional payments
  • Minimum 16 hours per week guaranteed (roles from 12 hours also available)
  • At least 3 weeks’ notice of scheduled shifts

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing friendly, natural service and getting to know your customers
  • Being confident with Tesco’s products and services, offering help when needed
  • Providing flexible support across the store, including:
    • Shelf replenishment
    • Checkout service
    • Online order picking
    • Occasional delivery assistance
    • General service and replenishment duties
  • Making customer-focused decisions and completing key store routines
  • Understanding how your role supports:
    • Great service
    • Strong sales
    • Waste reduction
    • Overall store performance

You will need:

  • A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride
  • The ability to build rapport so customers leave having had a great experience
