Overview of the Role
Mott MacDonald is leading the way in Nature Services, seeking Seasonal Ecologists to integrate nature into developments and contribute to a sustainable future.
In this challenging but rewarding role, you’ll:
- Spend the majority of your time on-site, conducting ecological surveys (e.g., flora/fauna, habitats)
- Perform data analysis and health/safety reporting in the office
- Support senior team members, presenting findings clearly and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with clients across transport, power, water, and local authority sectors

Candidate Specification
Essential Requirements
- A degree in Ecology (or a closely related field)
- Strong communication skills for both technical reports and team briefings
- Ability to travel UK-wide, including remote sites (no public transport irregularly)
- Flexibility to work evenings when required
- Adept organisational skills
Desirable (Bonus Skills)
- Protected-species survey licences (preferably for bats, birds, or dormice)
- Hands-on experience in ecological consultancy (including design, permitting)
- Practical knowledge of bat survey techniques, analysing sound recordings/infrared footage
- Ability to produce professional ecological reports and concise deliverables
