Grade: Tier 2
Base Hourly rate: £14.89 with addition shift allowance, Campaign rate will be £18.75
Working Pattern: Beet Intake shift pattern (12-hour shift pattern, average 42hr week including weekends)
British Sugar is the leading sugar supplier in the UK and one of the most efficient sugar processors in the world. Partnering with over 3,500 growers to produce home grown sugar, supplying around 50% of the UK’s sugar market, we are proud to be building and supporting a beet sugar industry that works for Britain.
We are looking to recruit a number of individuals to fill seasonal roles on our sugar beet processing campaign, running from September 2026 to mid-March 2027. You will join our factory operations teams and will play a vital role in processing the sugar beet crop into sugar and other co-products.
Main Scope of the Roles
The roles will involve operating all plant within specific areas of the factory in a manner that satisfies safety, production, quality and all other compliance requirements. They will also entail working shifts during processing seasons, controlling operational parameters in order to maintain product within specified limits, as well as troubleshooting operational issues.

Key Results Areas
- Controlling operational parameters in order to maintain product within specified limits
- Troubleshooting operational issues
- Satisfy safety, production, quality and all other compliance requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
Ideally you will have practical experience, preferably in a production environment and/or operation of plant, although comprehensive training will be given to the successful candidate. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative. You will need to have a strong safety awareness, and a willingness to seek and develop continuous improvement activities.
