The Role…

At Soho House we have an exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Gardener to join our gardens team. The role involves regular ornamental border maintenance and the production of top-quality fruit, vegetables, herbs, microgreens, and cut flowers for our onsite restaurants, deli, florists, and seasonal events.

This is a hands-on, varied role which includes working in organic, no-dig production gardens, where quality, consistency, and collaboration with our kitchen teams and floristry team are key. You'll be part of a team that propagates and grows seasonal year-round produce and microgreens which play a direct role in our menus. You'll tend to cut flower beds consisting of both annual and perennial plants which are sent directly to our onsite florist each week. You'll take pride in developing and maintaining garden borders to the highest standards, tending to herbaceous and deciduous plants using horticultural best practice.

Key duties…

  • Propagate, grow, and maintain high-quality seasonal fruit, vegetables, herbs, microgreens, and cut flowers within an organic framework
  • Tend and maintain the gardens and ornamental borders to exceptional horticultural standards
  • Harvest crops and flowers and liaise closely with kitchen/floristry teams to ensure produce meets their requirements
  • Plan seasonal planting in line with menu planning
  • Maintain daily records including sowing lists, harvest yields, and pest or disease monitoring
  • Manage composting and soil health using sustainable practices
  • Research and implement appropriate planting plans and horticultural techniques
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, good working order
  • Support guest engagement when required, including demonstrations or informal tours

What We Are Looking For...

A successful Gardener for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years' experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first-class service. You'll be reliable, friendly, and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Gardener or similar within a similar high-end environment.
  • Horticultural qualification level 2 or above is advantageous but not a necessity
  • Knowledge of horticulture, production gardening, landscaping principles, arboriculture, and sustainable practices.
  • Experience with all types of horticultural machinery.
  • Understand current health and safety legislation.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively

The salary range for this role if filled within the UK is listed below. The range for the position in different geographies may vary based on market differences.
