Seasonal Roadway Maintenance Support - Carlton, MN

BASIC FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Maintenance, Engineering, or Traffic Services department, provide roadway maintenance or Transportation Department support duties as required, and perform other related job duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform bituminous road surface maintenance
- Conduct roadside vegetation maintenance
- Complete drainage maintenance tasks
- Operate traffic control during maintenance activities
- Serve as ticket taker for road construction projects (examples: bituminous paving or aggregate shouldering)
- Perform other duties assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimal Requirements
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent High school seniors expecting graduation by June 2024 are eligible
- Certificates/Licenses Required: Valid driver’s license (US state/class) Note: Successful completion of medical, physical, and drug screenings required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- English Proficiency: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- General Competencies:
- Ability to follow instructions
- Operate a computer/iPad; use a calculator for basic math
- Drive pickup trucks safely
- Lift & carry objects up to 50 pounds daily
- attention to safety protocols & coding guidelines, when applicable
