Sales Assistant at JD SportsBMI
We are hiring Sales Assistants to play a vital role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience for our customers at JD Sports, Birmingham Airport (B26 3QJ).
Key Details
Working in an airport environment requires flexibility with shifts ranging between 3:30 AM and 11 PM, including weekends and bank holidays.
Requirements
“Candidates must provide a reference history from the last 5 years and undergo a criminal record check (DBS) in line with Airport Security Regulations. Unsocial hours between 10 PM and 6 AM will be paid at a premium rate.
Note: This role is not suited for Young Workers (Under 18). By law (Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act 1996), young workers cannot work between 10 PM and 6 AM.

Role Overview
As a Sales Assistant, you will contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences. The JD Group empowers career progression, making it ideal for motivated individuals keen to advance professionally.
Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and meeting customer service metrics.

Drive and exceed sales targets using in-store devices, showcasing the full product range, and maximizing add-on sales opportunities.

Maintain high visual and merchandising standards, ensuring a clean, well-stocked, and organized shop floor that aligns with brand guidelines.

Support overall store operations by assisting other departments, representing the company professionally, and adhering to safety guidelines.

Process sales transactions accurately (cash and card payments).

Upsell and cross-sell products to meet sales objectives.

Keep stock levels replenished on the shop floor, ensuring shelves are well-organized and visually appealing.

Address customer queries professionally and help achieve store targets by collaborating with fellow team members.
Role Objectives and KPIs
Achieve the following targets:
- Contribute to monthly sales targets (or exceed them).
- Maximize additional KPIs including:
- Units sold
- Conversion rate
- Average ticket value (ATV)
- Units per transaction (UPT).
- Hit upselling / cross-selling targets.
- Maintain a high Net Promoter Score.
- Ensure 100% stock replenishment on the shop floor.
