Secondary Teaching Assistant Academic and Pastoral Support Local Secondary Schools
Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Term Time Only)
Salary: GBP88.92 - GBP100 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / Next Term

We are seeking dedicated Secondary Support Assistants to work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role is the perfect foundation for future teachers, social workers, or educational psychologists who want to gain boots-on-the-ground experience in a fast-paced secondary environment.
- Subject Support: Use your own academic strengths (Maths, English, Science, etc.) to help students grasp complex concepts and improve their GCSE prospects.
- Mentorship Role: Act as a positive role model, helping teenagers build the resilience, organisation, and confidence they need to succeed.

Your Role as an Educational Mentor
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you aren't just an extra pair of hands; you are a vital link between the student and the curriculum.
- Targeted Interventions: Lead small breakout groups or 1:1 sessions for students who need extra support with literacy, numeracy, or specific subject coursework.
- In-Class Support: Work alongside subject teachers to manage classroom dynamics, ensuring that students with additional needs (SEND) can access the lesson.
- Pastoral Care: Assist with emotional regulation and social skills, helping students navigate the complexities of secondary school life.
- Exam Access Support: Act as a reader or scribe for students during mock exams and assessments to ensure they can demonstrate their full potential.

Essential Requirements

- Are a Strong Communicator: You can explain difficult ideas in a simple way and build professional rapport with students aged 11-16.
- Have Relevant Experience: This could be from a school, university tutoring, sports coaching, or volunteering with youth groups.
- Are Proactive and Resilient: You can handle the high-energy environment of a secondary school and stay calm under pressure.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS (or are willing) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding and student welfare.
