Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Assist in menu development, ensuring creativity while maintaining nutrition, taste, and seasonal sustainability.
- Work with fresh seasonal produce to prepare cuisine of the highest quality.
- Cultivate a warm, professional, and enjoyable workplace culture within the team and with residents.
- Operate within budget to ensure cost-effective yet high-quality service.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain standards.
- Manage stock control efficiently.
- Lead and inspire a team, fostering motivation and collaboration.
Requirements
Essential
- A warm, personable approach with a genuine interest in residents’ well-being.
- Qualification: Must hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring team members.
- Strong understanding of nutrition, including dietary requirements and resident needs.
- Ability to work with seasonal, fresh ingredients.
- The talent to create a welcoming, engaging environment for residents.
