Second Chef - Care Home

## About the Role

As a Second Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and well-balanced meals to residents while collaborating with our Head Chef. We rely on passionate, personable, and warm individuals committed to person-centred hospitality.

## Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in developing menus that are both flavourful and balanced, tailored to resident preferences
  • Cook with fresh, seasonal produce to deliver high-quality dishes
  • Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Position as a friendly and engaging professional to residents, fostering a welcoming atmosphere
  • Work efficiently within budget and maintain strict HACCP standards
  • Support menu development, stock management, and kitchen audits

## Essential Requirements

  • Hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ qualification (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience with seasonal, fresh cuisine
  • Understanding of nutritional requirements for health/community settings
  • Ability to initiate positive interactions with residents
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles and safety protocols
