The Second Chef role with Agincare is more than just cooking. You’ll work alongside a passionate team to deliver an exceptional quality of life for those in our care.

What We Need
✅ Minimum 12 months of right-to-work documentation ✅ Background in kitchen environments
- Experience managing a professional kitchen is essential
- Knowledge of the IDDSI framework (or managing complex dietary requirements) is desirable ✅ Full-time role (40 hours per week), including shifts on alternative weekends
- Shifts timings (4 times per week): 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

A Day in the Life of a Cook
Your responsibilities will include:

Menu Planning
- Collaborate with the home manager to develop menus based on resident feedback, tastes, and dietary needs.
- Organise themed days and events to showcase creativity and skill.

Understanding & Managing Dietary Needs
- Ensure residents receive personalised nutrition, including:
- Modified food textures (for swallowing difficulties)
- Allergies
- Specialist dietary requirements

Kitchen Management
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Responsible for stock management and maintaining hygiene standards.
About You
You don’t need a care-specific background—what matters is:
✔ Experience in a catering context (previous chef, kitchen assistant, or similar) ✔ Prior knowledge of:
- Food Safety
- COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) ✔ Soft Skills:
- Caring and empathetic approach
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Strong team player
