Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (All Core Subjects)

Milk Education is partnering with a happy and inclusive secondary school in Merseyside to find a confident, adaptable Cover Supervisor. This fantastic opportunity suits:

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll deliver pre-crafted lessons across core subjects, ensuring students stay engaged without the usual teacher present.

Subjects will range across English, Maths, Science, and Humanities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lesson Delivery: Teach pre-planned lessons across a variety of secondary school subjects
  • Behaviour Management: Maintain discipline and compliance with school policies
  • Student Engagement: Keep students focused, motivated, and on task
  • Support: Provide study guidance, answer questions, and support learning
  • Feedback: Give timely updates on student progress and behaviour to teaching staff
  • Teamwork: Develop positive relationships with both students and staff
  • Classroom Culture: Ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment
  • Adaptability: Confidently adjust to any subject or classroom scenario

  • Experience: Secondary students (desirable), or relevant work with young learners
  • Education: Degree or a strong portfolio of young people’s experience
  • Skills:
    • Gospel communication (spoken and unspoken leadership)
    • Robust classroom management techniques
    • Engagement of young minds across multiple subjects
    • Passion for education’s impact on young people
  • Personality: Resilient, adaptable, enthusiastic
  • Prospective: Open to graduates, TOs, NQTs, and cover supervisor veterans alike
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS in progress (if not already secured) or souls open to it
