Secondary Supply Teacher Subject Specialist Local Secondary Schools

Position

Full-Time or Part-Time, Flexible (Term Time Only)

GBP140 - GBP233 per day (Weekly Pay - dependent on experience)

Your Role as a Secondary Lead

As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you are responsible for maintaining academic momentum and ensuring students remain engaged and respectful.

  • Expert Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-planned lessons with confidence, ensuring that students in Years 7-13 continue to make progress against the National Curriculum.
  • High-Level Classroom Management: Utilise sophisticated behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused and productive learning environment for teenagers.
  • Differentiated Support: Adapt the delivery of materials on the fly to support students with SEND or to stretch higher-attaining pupils at Key Stage 4.
  • Professional Handovers: Provide concise, high-quality feedback to the department head to ensure seamless continuity for the students' regular teacher.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for subject specialists with a strong classroom presence. You are an ideal fit if you:

  • Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (ECTs are encouraged).
  • Are Subject Confident: You have a deep understanding of your specialist subject and a general ability to cover other areas of the secondary curriculum.
  • Are Resilient and Engaging: You can walk into a new classroom and quickly build rapport with teenagers through subject passion and firm boundaries.
  • Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
