About The Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate, driven educator to step into a permanent, full-time position as a Secondary Teacher of IT and Business starting this September. The successful candidate will design and deliver a high-quality, knowledge-rich curriculum spanning both disciplines, equipping students with the digital literacy and commercial awareness needed for life beyond secondary school. Teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, the educator will play a pivotal role in ensuring that students achieve top academic outcomes while developing practical skills for modern industries.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness for one).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for IT and Business.
  • Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.

  • Subject Expertise: Deep, dual-discipline knowledge across business concepts and digital/IT applications.

  • Data Analysis: Competency in assessing student performance metrics to pinpoint specific gaps in learning.
  • Adaptability: The capacity to thrive and remain positive within a fast-paced, highly structured school day.
  • Relationship Building: Exceptional skill in nurturing trust and accountability with young people from various backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact IT and Business lessons that adhere to the academy’s structured, knowledge-rich curriculum.
  • Maintain the school’s exceptionally high expectations for behaviour, utilising established, consistent classroom routines.
  • Foster an environment of academic rigour where all students are pushed to reach their full potential without excuses.
  • Track and assess student progress regularly, implementing data-driven interventions to support lagging learners.
  • Contribute actively to the school’s co-curricular electives program built directly into the extended weekly timetable.
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues across the wider academy trust to share best practices and resources.
  • Establish positive, professional relationships with the school’s diverse community of families and students.
  • Prepare Key Stage 4 students comprehensively for their GCSEs or relevant vocational alternative qualifications.
  • Engage fully in the academy’s robust induction process and continuous professional development (CPD) sessions.
  • Undertake form tutor duties, providing strong pastoral support and reinforcing the school’s core values daily.
