Secondary Teaching Assistant | Redbridge | September 2026 | INDSUP
A welcoming and inclusive mixed secondary school in Redbridge is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate in their final year of their degree, who is considering a career in teaching and looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training.
About the Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students across KS3 and KS4, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve success
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions for students with SEND
- Assist in-class with teaching activities and pastoral care
- Work closely with class teachers and the SEND department
The school is looking for a patient, adaptable, and compassionate graduate committed to inclusive education and making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

We are particularly interested in graduates with degrees in:
- Maths
- Psychology
- English
- History
- Geography
- Science
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted academic and pastoral support for students with SEND, including:
- Autism (Autistic Spectrum Disorder)
- ADHD
- Speech and language needs
- SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) needs
- Work under the guidance of class teachers and SEND specialists
- Provide behavioural and emotional support in a structured, caring manner
- Contribute to a thriving, inclusive school community
This role is an ideal stepping stone for someone looking to develop their classroom practice, behaviour management, and understanding of SEND provision in a supportive environment.
