Secretary (Affordable Housing)
We have a newly created role for an experienced Secretary to join our growing Housing department in Leeds. Your role will be to provide secretarial support for our Affordable Housing Property fee earners in the provision of a wide range of legal services to our clients.
What will I be doing Working in conjunction with the Partners and fee earners, you'll organise and prioritise workloads on an ongoing basis, helping to maintain diaries and identify potential scheduling conflicts as and when they arise. Providing administrative and secretarial support, including correspondence, e-filing, billing, and diary/booking management. Opening, maintaining, and closing client files under the supervision of and as directed by fee earners. Liaising with clients and taking instructions under the supervision of fee earners. Preparing, amending, and finalising legal documents as directed by fee earners. Managing property-related tasks including searches, Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions, Land Registry interface, engrossments, and completion preparations. Producing / assisting in the completion of monthly bills and team financials.
You'll have Ideally previous experience working as a Legal Secretary within the Property sector, and experience and proficiency in Searches, Land Registry and SDLT interfaces. Proficiency in document preparation, including house style, schedule levels, stripping out and re-formatting documents, table of contents, formulas, track changes, document comparison packages. Great organisational and time management skills. You'll be efficient, capable of working to deadlines and able to use your initiative without being prompted. Excellent attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, and other IT packages.
