Operating both in the UK and across the world, they are a leading contractor delivering projects across multiple sectors including; real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water.

Your new role

Working on the largest highways project in the region involving a new 10 mile dual carriageway, we are looking for a Section Engineer to join the project team.

As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing your section of works from planning through to delivery, ensuring effective communication with site teams, designers, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with engineers, supervisors, designers, commercial teams, and stakeholders.
  • Producing temporary works design briefs in line with project requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining 3-month lookahead programmes for your work section.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress against programme targets.
  • Planning work activities, sequences, constraints, and interfaces to support efficient delivery.
  • Assisting project and commercial teams with subcontractor payment applications.
  • Coordinating quality inspections with clients and third-party stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Driving best practice environmental management across your section and supply chain partners.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the construction process.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Knowledge of construction contracts and project delivery processes.
  • SMSTS and CSCS
