We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Section Engineer to join our Special Bridge Inspection and Maintenance (SBIM) team working on the Prince of Wales Bridge.

Collaborating closely with National Highways, Amey delivers maintenance and renewal works across critical infrastructure assets.

The Prince of Wales Bridge is a key strategic route requiring detailed engineering coordination, inspection, and maintenance to ensure continued safe operation.

The Section Engineer will support the delivery of schemes and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with standards, programme, and safety requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support delivery of inspection, maintenance, and renewal schemes
  • Take ownership of work packages ensuring safe and compliant delivery
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and defect assessments
  • Support planning of access, traffic management, and works coordination
  • Provide site engineering support during works delivery
  • Support RAMS, permits, and CDM compliance activities
  • Deliver quality assurance processes including inspections and testing
  • Coordinate subcontractors and specialist works
  • Maintain accurate site and asset records
  • Monitor progress and support reporting and programme updates
  • Liaise with internal teams, National Highways, and supply chain
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and safe working practices

What You’ll Bring:

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND/BEng (or equivalent experience)
  • CSCS card
  • Working towards professional accreditation (desirable)
