Role Description
The Section Planner (Track) is a full-time, on-site role based in Broxbourne, responsible for planning and scheduling track maintenance and renewal activities. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Preparing detailed work plans
- Coordinating access to the railway infrastructure
- Ensuring that resources, materials, and equipment are available for planned works

The role involves working closely with maintenance teams, engineers, and operations staff to minimize disruption to passengers and freight users while maintaining safety and compliance with railway standards. The Section Planner monitors progress against plans, updates schedules as required, and supports reporting and documentation to ensure accurate records of work completed.

Qualifications
- Experience in planning, scheduling, or coordinating maintenance or infrastructure works, ideally within a rail or similar safety-critical environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and priorities accurately.
- Awareness of safety regulations and compliance requirements, with a commitment to safe working practices and risk management.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Proficiency with planning or asset management systems and standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, scheduling tools).
- Ability to interpret technical information, diagrams, or work instructions related to track infrastructure and maintenance.
- Relevant vocational or academic qualifications in engineering, transport, or a related field are beneficial; equivalent experience is also valued.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing operational requirements and processes within a large, complex organization.
