Team Overview
The Citi EMEA FI Novation Team supports a broad range of internal stakeholders, with significant interaction with external clients, playing a crucial role in delivering client experience excellence. Operating in global markets, this role is nested in a collaborative environment that fosters growth, offering valuable work experiences and development opportunities at one of Belfast’s iconic hubs, the Titanic Quarter.
Role Overview
The Intermediate Analyst role at Securities & Derivatives supports the processing of orders and transactions from trading desks and branch offices in collaboration with the Operations – Transaction Services team. The position is designed for self-directed professionals eager to contribute to the broader business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Billing and Administration Support: Independently manage Business As Usual (BAU) processes while addressing ad-hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic operations setting.
- Novation Transaction Processing: Handle day-to-day novation transaction support, providing critical assistance to EMEA Sales and Trading Desks, ensuring seamless operational execution.
- Repo Process Knowledge and Compliance: Demonstrate a deep understanding of FI novation processes, including Repo operations, and escalate control gaps and issues to senior management.
- Risk Mitigation and Improvement: Identify Repo-related control shortcomings, propose risk-management solutions, and collaborate on best practices for procedural improvements.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Perform detailed analysis of complex Repo issues where recommendations are necessary, even when clear answers are not immediately available.

Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must show evidence of the following:

- Ability to multitask efficiently while meeting deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—to convey ideas clearly and concisely.
- Adaptability to diverse tasks, including project assistance and team training on systems compliance.
- Proactive thinking and the ability to initiative improvements in existing processes after consultations with team members.
- Capacity to work collaboratively while maintaining self-motivation.
- Strong time-management skills, a structured problem-solving approach, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Self-reliance, critical-thinking capability, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Initiative to drive innovation across teams to devise better operational solutions.
Qualification Requirements:
- GCSE English & Mathematics at Grade C or equivalent.: fundamental qualification to be considered for the role.
