Team Overview
The Citi EMEA FI Novation Team supports a wide range of internal stakeholders, ensuring significant interaction with external clients—and playing a key role in shaping the overall client experience.
Role Overview
The Securities & Derivatives Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations – Transaction Services team.
What You’ll Do
- Provide support to a variety of Fixed Income Novations tasks, including:
- Independently handling Business As Usual (BAU) processes and ad-hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders in a complex Markets Operations environment.
- Supporting the daily Novation transactional processing for EMEA-based Sales and Trading Desks.
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of how the team collaboratively contributes to overall business goals.
- Applying in-depth knowledge of Repo processes to resolve operational issues.
- Escalating control gaps and regulatory risks to senior management, identifying and implementing solutions to mitigate losses or procedural shortcomings.
- Ensuring direct impact through shared responsibility for delivering high-quality results and process improvements.
- Conducting detailed analyses where best courses of action are ambiguous, making evidence-based recommendations.
What We’ll Need from You
- Multitasking and deadlines – Ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting strict timelines.
- Clear communication skills – Strong written and verbal articulation, expressing complex ideas concisely.
- Project and training support – Assisting in training team members on process compliance and systems.
- Teamwork and initiative – Comfortable working collaboratively while proactively suggesting process improvements.
- Self-motivation and adaptability – Willingness to learn, take ownership, and manage performance independently.
- Efficient time management – Balancing competing priorities with a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Technical proficiency – Fluency in MS Office (Excel and Word).
- Problem-solving mindset – Self-reliant, analytical, and results-driven with a sharp eye for detail.
- Collaborative mindset – Ability to partner with other teams to drive innovative solutions.

Preferred (but not mandatory):
- Relevant experience in an organisational or administrative role.
- GCSE equivalency in English & Maths (Grade C or higher).
