Securities Financing Specialist

About the Position We are looking for a financing professional to support and develop Jane Street's EMEA financing capabilities across multiple asset classes. To thrive in this role, you’ll need prior experience developing financing solutions at a bank or buy-side firm and strong relationships with prime brokers and counterparties across the spectrum of equity, ETF and corporate credit financing products. This role is entrepreneurial—it offers the opportunity to shape and execute financing decisions and help develop the firm's long-term financing strategy. In doing so, you can expect to work with a broad range of internal teams to understand and manage the various constraints of a quantitative trading firm. Additional responsibilities will include: Managing and negotiating our financing transactions on a day-to-day basis across various products Maintaining and developing relationships with prime brokers and other external financing counterparties Optimising our financing footprint across counterparties, products and structures: identifying inefficiencies, reducing costs and improving terms across the book Helping to form our long-term financing strategy by improving and expanding our current activity Understanding our firmwide financing constraints and comparing financing opportunities using in-depth cost-benefit analysis Helping to build and improve the infrastructure that supports our financing initiatives Responsibilities will include: Managing and negotiating our financing transactions on a day-to-day basis across various products Maintaining and developing relationships with prime brokers and other external financing counterparties Optimising our financing footprint across counterparties, products, and structures – identifying inefficiencies, reducing costs, and improving terms across the book Helping to form our long-term financing strategy by improving and expanding our current activity Understanding our firmwide financing constraints and comparing financing opportunities via in-depth cost-benefit analysis Helping to build and improve the infrastructure that supports our financing initiatives About You Have 3-5 years of relevant financing experience at a buy-side firm or bank Have a strong understanding of EMEA financing and stock loan markets; having experience across multiple asset classes (e.g., equities, corporate bonds, ETFs) and financing structures (e.g., PB, swap, repo) is a plus Excited and able to cultivate and manage relationships with prime brokers and other external financing counterparties Have strong analytical skills and experience with performing technical data analysis to solve problems (e.g., through previous work experience, STEM coursework) Intellectually curious and motivated to learn about new financing trade types and strategies An effective communicator who works well in a team environment Having fluency in Python, SQL or other programming languages is a strong plus Fluent in English If you're a recruiting agency and want to partner with us, please reach out to agency-partnerships@janestreet.com
