Security Architect
📍 London (Blackfriars) | Hybrid
I'm working with a private equity-backed financial services organisation, backed by Oakley Capital, that is embarking on a major transformation to rebuild its core lending platform. Before moving into delivery, the business is investing in an architecture discovery programme to define the future-state technology landscape. As part of this, they're bringing together a small team of senior architects across Cloud, Infrastructure, Data, Payments and Security to shape the platform from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to influence the security architecture before any significant development begins, ensuring security is embedded into the platform from day one.
The Role
As the Security Architect, you'll be responsible for defining the target security architecture that will underpin the next generation of the platform. Working alongside senior architecture peers, you'll assess the current security landscape, identify architectural gaps and risks, and produce the security roadmap that will guide the wider transformation programme.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why Join?
This isn't a role where you'll inherit someone else's architecture. You'll be defining the security foundations of a platform that the organisation will invest in for years to come, working alongside experienced Cloud, Infrastructure, Data and Payments Architects in a highly visible programme with direct exposure to executive leadership.
