This is a key role within a busy retail environment, supporting both front-facing security operations and the safe management of Back of House (BOH) areas across the centre.

The Role

As a Security Officer Compliance, you will play a vital part in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-managed shopping centre. Working as part of the on-site security team, you will support day-to-day operations, conduct compliance checks, engage with retailers, and proactively identify and reduce risks.

  • Pay rate - £13.82

  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc BOH inspections across loading bays, service corridors, plant areas, refuse rooms, and shared BOH spaces

  • Monitor compliance with:

    • Fire safety requirements (escape routes, fire doors, storage)
    • Health & Safety standards
    • Waste management procedures
    • Deliveries and loading bay protocols
  • Identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues and take appropriate action

  • Act as the BOH point of contact for retailers and their contractors

  • Provide guidance and advice to retailers on BOH rules, safety expectations, and best practice

  • Challenge non-compliance professionally and constructively

  • Build positive working relationships to encourage voluntary compliance

  • Record all inspections, issues, and actions taken using agreed reporting systems

  • Escalate serious or repeat breaches to management

  • Support enforcement actions where necessary in line with centre policies

  • Operate as part of the security team, responding to incidents as required

  • Maintain a visible BOH presence to deter theft, misuse of areas, and unauthorised access

  • Support emergency responses including evacuations, fire alarms, and major incidents

  • Monitor contractor access and compliance with site rules

  • Ensure deliveries are conducted safely and within designated timeframes

  • Challenge unauthorised access or unsafe working practices

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
