Security Engineer
Senior Security Engineer
LOCATION: Central London or Tewkesbury – 5 days on site
Due to security clearance requirements, candidates must be eligible for or currently hold SC or DV. Candidates must be sole UK National/British citizen and have resided in the UK for 10+ years.

About the Role
Our platinum client is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to:
- Support, maintain, and enhance large-scale security platforms
- Drive the development and delivery of new security capabilities
This role is perfect for experienced engineers who thrive in technical environments and can: ✔ Manage high-favenor complex security challenges ✔ Implement, innovate, and refine security solutions
Key Responsibilities
- Provide second- and third-line technical support for security platforms, including:
- Incident & problem management
- Timely resolution in line with SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- Monitor platform performance and proactive issue resolution to ensure reliability
- Develop and maintain technical documentation (operational procedures, system configurations, knowledge base)
- Lead the analysis, design, implementation and support of:
- Security toolsets and integrations
- Collaborate with the Account Security Team to improve security processes, controls, and policies

What You Will Bring to the Team
- Strong organisation and time management with the ability to juggle high priority tasks
- Hands-on ITIL experience in incident, problem, and change management
- Continuous improvement mindset with problem-solving skills
- Focus on root-cause analysis for long-term solutions
- Collaborative approach—to share knowledge, learn, and adapt
- Proactive & analytical with risk mitigation at the forefront
- Ability to predict and pre-empt challenges
- Experience developing and enhancing security capabilities within client environments
Desirable Skills & Technologies
Core Expertise:
- Knowledge of networking principles and system communication
- Experience in planning, design, and ongoing management of security platforms down cloud and on-prem environments, including:
- Endpoint Security (e.g. Trellix (McAfee), Symantec (Broadcom))
- Vulnerability Management (e.g. Qualys, Tenable)
- Privileged Access Management (e.g. Cyber Ark, HashiCorp)
- Cloud Security (AWS's Guard Duty/Inspector/Security Hub & Azure’s Sentinel, Defender)
Infrastructure & Security Know-how:
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux Operating Systems
- PKI exposure
- Security monitoring experience
- Anti-Virus, Endpoint Protection, and Firewall management
- Application & device control

Tooling & Automation:
- Familiarity with Git, Ansible, Terraform, Docker—including security implications
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash or similar
Governance & Communication:
- Foundational understanding of GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) frameworks
- Ability to clarify complex technical concepts for all stakeholders
Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Development:
- Talent for designing and delivering real-world evaluations of security tools and integrations
