Security Engineer - Fully Remote
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Engineer based in United Kingdom.
As a Security Engineer, you will play a key role in strengthening the security, reliability, and trust of a widely used SaaS platform serving millions of users worldwide. Working within a product-driven engineering environment, you will embed security throughout the software development lifecycle while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This position offers the opportunity to design and implement security features, enhance infrastructure resilience, and drive secure engineering practices across the organization. You will contribute to protecting users, preventing platform abuse, and supporting the company's growth into larger enterprise markets. If you enjoy solving complex security challenges and making a measurable impact on both products and engineering culture, this role offers an exciting opportunity in a fully remote, international environment.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and implement security features, safeguards, and internal tooling to strengthen the platform and protect users.
- Integrate security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is considered from design to deployment.
- Lead security initiatives from concept through implementation, including proposing solutions, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering production-ready outcomes.
- Improve the organization's overall security posture to support enterprise-grade security expectations and compliance requirements.
- Identify, investigate, and mitigate abusive or harmful activity to maintain platform integrity and protect the user experience.
- Define, promote, and continuously improve internal security standards, policies, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineering teams on secure development practices and help remove technical blockers related to security initiatives.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar application or infrastructure security role.
- Strong knowledge of secure software development practices and modern security principles.
- Experience designing and implementing security controls, tools, and automation within cloud-based environments.
- Solid understanding of application security, infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and threat mitigation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate security concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security risks.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, international, and fast-paced engineering environment.
