Security Engineer
Security Engineer: Location: Midlands based, with travel to customer sites Salary: £33,000–£37,000 DOE Contract: Full-time, permanent The Role: As an Experienced Security Engineer, you’ll be a key part of our service and project delivery team, working closely with our Technical Manager and Operations & Project Delivery team. You’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance and fault resolution of CCTV and access control systems, ensuring work is delivered safely, professionally and in line with agreed plans. No two days are the same. One day you might be leading a planned installation, the next supporting reactive fault work or advising a customer on system improvements. You’ll arrive prepared, supported by clear job information, and trusted to get the job done properly. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Maintenance Install, commission and maintain CCTV and door access control systems Carry out system upgrades, extensions and remedial works Ensure installations meet company standards, manufacturer guidelines and health & safety requirements Produce clear, accurate job documentation and handover information Fault Finding & Support: Diagnose and resolve faults both on-site and remotely Work closely with the operations team to prioritise and complete reactive jobs Provide clear technical feedback to support quoting and follow-on work Project & Operational Support: Follow job plans and site packs prepared by the operations team Support multi-engineer or complex projects when required Communicate progress, issues and completion clearly Customer Experience: Represent the business professionally at all times Explain systems clearly to customers and provide basic user guidance where needed Build trusted, long-term relationships through reliable, tidy and courteous work About You: You’ll be an experienced engineer who enjoys taking responsibility and doing things right first time. Essential Experience & Skills: Minimum 3 years’ experience in the security industry Strong experience with CCTV and door access control systems Confident fault finding and problem solving Experience installing Cat5e / Cat6 cabling Strong communication skills, both with customers and internal teams Full UK driving licence Personal Qualities: Calm, organised and professional Customer-focused with a pride in workmanship Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Willing to learn and keep up with new products and technology Why Work for Us?
