Position Available: Security Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire (1 day per week in office)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Experience needed: We're looking for an Engineer with hands-on experience building and supporting AWS infrastructure using Terraform, CI/CD and automation, alongside exposure to cloud security tooling or security best practices.

About our Team

We're looking for a Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team, helping to build, deploy, and support the security tooling that protects large-scale cloud platforms.

This is a hands-on role focused on AWS, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevSecOps practices. You'll work closely with security, cloud, and software engineering teams to improve security, reliability, and operational resilience across the organisation's technology estate.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain security tooling across cloud environments
  • Work with engineering teams to improve security, reliability, and operational resilience
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
  • Support incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities
  • Take ownership of cloud infrastructure and security improvements from design through to implementation
  • Contribute to automation initiatives and security-by-design practices

Requirements

  • Commercial experience building and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions
  • Exposure to cloud security, DevSecOps, or security tooling such as vulnerability management, secrets management, SIEM, EDR, or code/security scanning tools
  • Experience implementing or owning infrastructure, automation, or security improvements rather than purely supporting existing environments
  • Scripting experience using Python, Shell, or similar languages
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch or New Relic
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering and security teams
