Tempest Vane Partners have partnered with a London based hedge fund who are looking to hire a Security Engineer as part of a newly formed cyber security function. Working closely with business users and other technology teams, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cyber security solutions and driving best practices around vulnerability remediation, threat detection, network and endpoint security as well as being there to deal with any security incidents from a support perspective.

This is the first Security Engineer role for the firm so the successful applicant must also have strong stakeholder management skills as the role will involve speaking to many users across the firm to gain buy in and identify opportunity for security improvements. You will be expected to face offer to senior people within the fund including C-level stakeholders and portfolio managers, whilst working closely with the Head of Infrastructure and other technology teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
