On the role:
This is a Senior Security Engineer role covering both cloud and on-premises environments, with genuine architectural influence rather than pure operational execution. The successful candidate will own security controls across identity, cloud, endpoint, and infrastructure — defining standards, hardening platforms, and leading detection and incident response using tools like Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR. It's a role that bridges strategy and hands-on technical delivery, working closely with Infrastructure, Network, and Application teams to ensure secure-by-design outcomes across the business, with a strong compliance dimension spanning PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
