About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Security Engineer to safeguard our organisation’s critical infrastructure, data, and systems. This role involves:
- Designing, deploying, and maintaining security infrastructure (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms)
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Analysing security logs and investigating incidents/threats proactively
- Developing security policies, procedures, and hardening standards for compliance
- Responding to security incidents with root cause analysis, containment, and remediation
- Performing risk assessments and recommending mitigation measures
- Collaborating cross-functionally with IT and development teams
- Monitoring emerging security threats and improving security posture
- Documenting configurations, incidents, and resolutions in detail
- Supporting compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc.)

Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation
- Design, deploy, and maintain:
- Firewalls
- Intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
- SIEM platforms
- Ensure alignment with organisational and regulatory standards
Vulnerability Management
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
- Identify and remediate systemic weaknesses
Incident Response & Forensi
- Investigate security logs and alerts
- Respond to incidents with technical precision
Policy & Compliance
- Develop security policies, procedures, and hardening standards
- Support compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS)
Strategic Improvement
- Evaluate emerging threats and recommend technological improvements
- Integrate security best practices into IT and development workflows
Analytical & Documentation
- Document security configurations and incidents systematically
- Maintain comprehensive security records
Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience in network security, system security, or information security
- Strong knowledge of:
- Security protocols
- Architectures and best practices
- Hands-on experience with:
- Firewalls
- IDS/IPS
- SIEM platforms
- Vulnerability scanners
- Proficiency in:
- Analysing security logs and network traffic
- Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Network fundamentals
- Expertise in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
- Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS)
- Analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong organisational and documentation capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Preferred
- Security certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, GIAC
- Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Familiarity with security automation/orchestration tools
- Incident response and digital forensics experience
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application security
- Experience in threat intelligence and APT analysis
