Location: Primarily Heathrow, with regular global travel (≥50%) Employer: IAG Cargo (Airside Logistics Division of International Airlines Group: Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Level, Vueling)

About the Role

At IAG Cargo, we move essential goods worldwide—from antibiotics and gold bullion to endangered species and perishable produce. In an era of digital borders, we open skies and fly the world's needs.

Position Summary

You’ll be the strategic leader for security across our global network, bringing together regulatory expertise, operational insight, and hands-on execution. As an ACGI-compliant security programme expert, you’ll:

  • Direct and translate global security standards into actionable policies
  • Lead high-impact programmes like ACC3 compliance, PLACI assurance, and AAI (Authorised AIP Operators Identity) processes
  • Conduct on-site inspections to identify vulnerabilities and drive risk mitigation strategies
  • Bridge technical gaps between regulators, suppliers, and business stakeholders
  • Investigate breaches and implement preventative measures to enhance operational resilience
  • Champion innovation (e.g., screening technologies) while optimizing security efficiency

Ideal for those who thrive in high-stakes environments, leverage cross-functional collaboration, and want to shape the future of aviation logistics.

** Key Responsibilities**

1. Strategic Security Leadership

  • Liaise between Network Operations, supplier security teams, and external regulators on compliance and process refinement.
  • Serve as the global security point of contact for two specific initiatives:
    • Valuable goods handling (high-risk cargo protocols with external stakeholders)
    • Electronic consignment security declarations (systems integration with Operations teams)
  • Act as SME for cargo screening practices, evaluating methodologies across solutions (existing and emerging).

2. Compliance & ACC3/Placi Programme Delivery

  • Support the Global Security Manager (GSM) in interpreting regulatory frameworks (e.g., IADC, CAPSCA, UKAVSEC). Ensure internal policies align with evolving standards.
  • Lead ACCI accreditation and PLACI response assurance, including:
    • Projecting for ACCI audits
    • Overseeing regulated agent compliance evaluations
    • Coordinating all emergency response programmes (e.g., forcible interference issue management).
  • Escalate, triage, and remediate security misconduct incidents with derfor lessons learned reporting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
