Regional Security Manager – Airfreight Logistics
Location: Primarily Heathrow, with regular global travel (≥50%) Employer: IAG Cargo (Airside Logistics Division of International Airlines Group: Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Level, Vueling)

Position Summary
You’ll be the strategic leader for security across our global network, bringing together regulatory expertise, operational insight, and hands-on execution. As an ACGI-compliant security programme expert, you’ll:
- Direct and translate global security standards into actionable policies
- Lead high-impact programmes like ACC3 compliance, PLACI assurance, and AAI (Authorised AIP Operators Identity) processes
- Conduct on-site inspections to identify vulnerabilities and drive risk mitigation strategies
- Bridge technical gaps between regulators, suppliers, and business stakeholders
- Investigate breaches and implement preventative measures to enhance operational resilience
- Champion innovation (e.g., screening technologies) while optimizing security efficiency

** Key Responsibilities**
1. Strategic Security Leadership
- Liaise between Network Operations, supplier security teams, and external regulators on compliance and process refinement.
- Serve as the global security point of contact for two specific initiatives:
- Valuable goods handling (high-risk cargo protocols with external stakeholders)
- Electronic consignment security declarations (systems integration with Operations teams)
- Act as SME for cargo screening practices, evaluating methodologies across solutions (existing and emerging).
2. Compliance & ACC3/Placi Programme Delivery
- Support the Global Security Manager (GSM) in interpreting regulatory frameworks (e.g., IADC, CAPSCA, UKAVSEC). Ensure internal policies align with evolving standards.
- Lead ACCI accreditation and PLACI response assurance, including:
- Projecting for ACCI audits
- Overseeing regulated agent compliance evaluations
- Coordinating all emergency response programmes (e.g., forcible interference issue management).
- Escalate, triage, and remediate security misconduct incidents with derfor lessons learned reporting.

3. Assurance & Risk Management
- Conduct enterprise-wide vulnerability audits and drive corrective action plans.
- Use risk data analytics to identify trends and propose scalable solutions.
- Maintain compliance dashboards to track assurance-related performance metrics.
- Oversee security management of change (SMoC) processes, analysing operational impacts.
- Lead incident investigation, determining root causes, and rolling out corrective protocols.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Training
- Advise Network Operations on compliance innovations and emerging risks.
- Advocate security best practices across teams, designing training programs.

Essential Qualifications & Attributes
✔ Comprehensive experience lIdentifying, managing, and remediating security vulnerabilities in high-value operations (e.g., aviation/logistics sectors). ✔ Sharp analytical skills to interpret regulations and data sets for compliance reporting. ✔ Ability to multitask and prioritise in fast-paced environments—balancing urgent properly and long-term strategy. ✔ Exceptional communication— translating technical compliance requirements for colleagues, suppliers, and regulators. ✔ Collaborative mindset fostering strong supply chain partnerships. ✔ Resilience under pressure, critical evaluations, and precision in decision-making. ✔ High professionalism – confidentiality-centric, detail-oriented result-driven support of Remedial Action. ✔ ** stagnant processes**, challenging existing solutions. ✔ IT proficiency sufficient to manage evolving security systems. ✔ Eligibility to work in the UK and undergo a counter-terrorist security check. ✔ Minimum of a high-level qualification (e.g., advanced degree in security, aviation studies or equivalent professional experience).
