Site Security Manager

About the Role
The Site Security Manager will ensure adherence to the Mitie Group’s policies from a health, safety and hygiene (QHSE) perspective. Working to national standards while upholding the highest confidence, this role is a key influence in progressing our clients’ overall corporate goals while working closely with the Mitie Operations Manager.
You will be the Single Point of Accountability (SPOA) for five key aspects: 1. Security Excellence Provide a high-level physical security service that is secure, reliable and fit for purpose, actively seeking to improve by continually encouraging innovation and development in the team.
2. Performance Culture Foster a culture of excellence, where each individual takes ownership of their work, challenges themselves to deliver the best possible service, thereby delivering consistently exceptional service.
3. Service Standards & Operations Excellence Develop and drive ops excellence, influencing policy, operational decisions, and other processes to improve overall service delivery.
4. People Leadership Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for charting the path to personal excellence and elevate all stakeholders’ onsite experience.
5. Security Risk Management Assist the custodian of security risk management, embedding early risk identification to process and business risks and enable the security team to maximise its impact.
Job Objectives and Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Actively drive for service excellence, sustainability, social values, and efficiency initiatives at the local level—coordinating the local delivery of all security operations.

Team Leadership & Training
- Act as the line manager for the site team leaders and officers, ensuring competence through competency training records and ongoing development.
- Ensure compliance with security training, including Security Essentials, Level 3 Security First Line, Leading Together (via Mitie’s management modules), and SCaN certification for all officers.
- Lead the LiveSafe programme, promoting Level 1 Champion training builds awareness, empowering officers as champions to mentor team members on eLearning engagement.

Incident & Risk Management
- Conduct pre-audit checks for monthly KPI meetings on all security operations.
- Complete investigations of security incidents, complaints, and incident reports.
- Respond promptly to manage client expectations, resolve concerns, and advocate on escalations when necessary.

Operational Excellence
- Ensure security systems (doors, CCTV, alarms, silenced hours, etc.) remain fully functional and report any faults via the client ticket system.
- Maintain staff rosters, manage holiday applications, cover shifts, and oversee security team scheduling.

LiveSafe Champion Compliance
- Complete all mandatory LiveSafe eLearning requirements and ensure team adherence.

Compliance & Reporting
- Manage client/intra-related documentation (security registers, site threat appraisals, key card records, retrievable material inventory, alert logs, etc.).
- Act as the custodian of monthly security events reporting to ensure complete records are maintained and issues resolved.

- Legal & Security Compliance
- Ensure all offshore officers adhere to UK fleet policies.
- Complete emergency preparedness and associated training.
Main Duties

Leadership & Management
- Maintain site security integrity through.dispatches and the management and implementation of all physical security measures.
- Develop/wrap up/close out mitigation action-planning for internal and client stakeholders.
- Implement accident and near-miss investigations via accident books and seat plans.

Command & Interface Produced
- Attend monthly start up meetings, escalating customer issues to operations and Mitie Support Management.
- Represent Mitie in ongoing project trials and client compliance audits.

Health & Safety Leadership
- Coordinate mitigations by providing sustainable strategies.
- Ensure safety standards are maintained. Investigate unsafe acts/conditions.

Internal/LiveSafe Compliance
- Act as a *first line dedicated/
- Investigates accidents and investigations with relevant documentation submitted through commands within Mitie policy.
- Monitor live and complete acts of compliance on-record compliance as required.
Required Standards
Minimum Professional Standards
- Completion of Level 3 Health & Safety (RQF) or preferred ISOH Managing Safely certification.
- Mitie eLearning induction for all officers.
- Certification of FAQ where applicable finally.
Security Standards
- Hold a current SC Level Security Clearance OR be able to obtain screening quickly.
- Must be a UK passport holder/citizen.
Licences & Compliance
- A valid SIA Licence (Specified categories):
- Security Guard (SG)
- Close Protection (CP)
- CCTV Operating (CCTV)
- Full clean driving license required (manual/automatic).
Workplace & Personal Standards
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools and data management utilities.
- Have excellent people and stakeholder management skills to reshape effectively, achieving superior service delivery.
Training Requirements
Crucial Training Certifications:
- Compulsory for both USER and CODA officers
- Nominated representative of personnel training success tracking:
- All security officers training on:
- Live Learning module access
- ‘LiveSafe’ Level 1 & SCaN Teams support officers courses
- All security officers training on:
- Non-absence tracking reporting.
- Nominated representative of personnel training success tracking:
Mitie Competency Matrix Compliance Required for tier levels:
- Security Officers alignment with appropriate qualed staff Modular Tiering framework
- PCN Social Media Media Compliance training for all officers.

Person Specification Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Aged 25 or over,
- Pre 65 pass required for comprehensive fire access privileges.
- Full UK Passport Holder or Citizenship.
- SIA Licence Required for residency purposes.
- Valid driving licence (manual and/or automatic).
- Previous experience in a similar role (preferably Health & Safety/Operations Management).
- 5-10 years of progressive senior-level occupational experience management in a security service context.
- Hold First Aid at Work certificate (FaW) or willingness and ability to complete.

- Report confirmed and suspected incidents immediately.
