Security Manager, Global Operations

About the Role

Crisis24’s IRM-Global Operations-Security division is seeking a Security Manager, Global Operations to join their London Operations Centre, providing emergency response, travel security advice, and evacuation coordination.

This role supports our clients in fulfilling duty of care and travel risk management, delivering professional security and safety services for routine and high-risk travel—including crisis response—and supporting global contingency planning.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in:

  • Pre-travel security assessments and ongoing risk management advice
  • Asset protection, risk mitigation strategies, and weapon of mass effect controls
  • Proactive threat monitoring, communications, and alerting
  • Incident response, crisis management, and emergency support
  • Global evacuation security operations

The Security Manager, Global Operations will lead operational security tasks, assess travel risks, manage client advisory services, and supervise Security Specialists in the Global Operations Centre, while ensuring timely, professional execution in high-stress environments.


Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment & Operational Planning

  • Lead travel and threat assessments using privileged and open-source platforms
  • Complete operational risk assessments, method statements, and develop action & conceptual plans
  • Coordinate ad hoc security tasks (secure transport, protection, monitoring, welfare)
  • Plan complex security and operational solutions aligned with client specifics

Client Advisory & Communications

  • Deliver tailored pre-travel security briefings to diverse clients (expatriates, NGOs, corporates, executives)
  • Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) with security-related content, mitigation measures, and recommendations
  • Provide emergency security and evacuation advice
  • Represent Crisis24 in contingency planning (meetings, calls)

Crisis Response & Contingency Management

  • Monitor global events, assess client exposure, and support evacuation & relocation planning
  • Identify deteriorating environments, exit routes, transport hubs, and logistical needs
  • Lead evacuation operations with real-time oversight
  • Maintain Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) for global movements

Task Execution & Operational Oversight

  • Ensure tasks meet client specifications †scope, timelines, escalation procedures
  • Log operations, close tasks, manage invoicing, and track budget adherence
  • Supervise live operations, maintaining high standards and customer satisfaction

Team Supervision & Training

  • Supervise, mentor, and train Security Specialists
  • Conduct performance reviews, training exercises, and capability-building initiatives
  • Manage staff rostering and leave approvals

Quality Assurance & Improvement

  • Maintain quality control standards and KPI monitoring
  • Improve operational efficiency across systems, workflows, and personnel
  • Report performance metrics and process enhancements

Documentation & Protocols

  • Compile post-operational reports and conduct lessons learned sessions
  • Develop and enforce Global Operations Centre protocols and client-specific SOPs

Financial & Governance Oversight

  • Coordinate task costings, vendor liaison, and financial reporting
  • Enforce adherence to company policies and data compliance regulations
  • Represent Crisis24’s service offerings and internal policies

Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as deputy for the Head of Security when required
  • Assume on-call rota duty (one week in every eight, 24/7 readiness)
  • Deploy as part of Incident Management Teams (IMT) and represent Crisis24 externally
  • Conduct ad-hoc travel for client meetings, training, and emergencies

In crises, you may act as a primary crisis advisor, coordinating global resources, security teams, and emergency assets while liaising with global organisations.


What You Will Bring

  • Native or fluent English (written & verbal) required; additional language skills are an advantage
  • Outstanding communication skills – strong ability to brief clients, teams, and senior leadership in high-stress situations
  • Team leadership expertise – ability to guide under pressure with a calm, positive attitude
  • Problem-solving mindset – solutions-oriented with proactive, agile critical thinking
  • Gobal awareness – current affairs understanding and jurisdictional knowledge essential
  • Physical & mental stamina – tailored for fast-paced environments with considerable overtime
  • Note-assurance competencies – build client confidence during emergent situations
  • Financial awareness – additionally read client contracts, proposals, and budget allocations

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years in security operations, with experience in corporate security, crisis management, humanitarian, military, or law enforcement contexts
  • Degree-level education in security studies, international relations, military science, law, or a related field
  • Proven expertise in security assessments, evacuations, and risk mitigation
  • ** Milton experience assisting** Governmental diplomat or NGO missions in emergency environments
  • Leadership experience with small teams and coaching staff to operational readiness
  • Current security management certification (e.g., NEBOSH, ISSA, or ISSP)
  • In-country and short-term platforms international travelling, such as URI, CAPE Training Session of the UC-SCIS, or ISSF professionals.
