Job Title: Security Manager
Location: Canary Wharf
Contracted Hours: 50 hours per week Mon to Friday

Role:
Working within a flagship building and the prestigious location in Canary Wharf your primary role is to manage, develop and exceed expectations ensuring a premier security provision is provided at all times. A clear understanding of the contract culture is required to ensure all members of the teams are fully motivated and committed to providing a bespoke high-level security service.
You will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be/become well versed in the processes and practices of a Security Manager professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well drilled security operation.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and visitors
- Be highly presentable, accountable; take responsibility and ownership for any tasks identified or allocated
- Be familiar with all Security and Emergency procedures on site and assist in the facilitation of their safe execution and practice.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental procedures are followed and do not under take any activity which could breach the SIA or other relevant regulations
- To complete any other reasonable task as instructed by your line manager or other Senior Manager, either Unitrust or at the request of the Client and/or tenants
- To act with integrity and in the best interests of the company in a safe, compliant and ethical manner
- Assist in the induction, development or ongoing training of new and current team members
- Act in accordance with Company policies and procedures and our code of conduct
- To have total accountability for the day-to-day running of the security operation within site.
- To liaise with the client to ensure KPI’s and SLA’s are met and exceeded.
- To ensure all Unitrust and client policies and procedures are adhered to and regularly reviewed
- To lead and motivate the security team
- Ensuring all issues and incidents are dealt with and reported on in a timely, professional and efficient manner to the client and control team
- To implement and manage all aspects of site and Unitrust’s environmental, health and safety requirements
- Managing the administration and welfare of the site security team, including induction and continuous training, probation, and setting objectives during annual appraisals
- Responsible for the rostering of staff and ensuring the contract is manned to contractual specifications, including appropriate holiday cover and managing staff absences
- To ensure there is a robust succession plan in place for all key positions within the team.
- Complete all administrative tasks as necessary
- To ensure daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports are submitted to the client as required
- Develop local liaison with the Police and the local community
- To be forward thinking and be part of idea generation and innovations
- To devise and implement new security procedures
- To act as incident commander for all site and Unitrust related business continuity/disaster recovery/incident response scenarios.
- To promote, manage and develop best practice working routines throughout the security team

Essential Skills:

- A minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience in the Security industry
- A minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in managing a prestigious and highly demanding contract
- Demonstrable experience in people management and the ability to motivate a team
- Valid SIA front-line licence
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Experience of writing and presenting risk reviews and business cases
- Reliable, trustworthy and punctual
- Resilient and calm under pressure with the ability to multi-task
- Operation of CCTV/access control communications in an appropriate manner
- CCTV licence - Desirable but not essential
- An industry recognised qualification (Highly desirable)
- Exposure to relevant Protective Security or Counter Terrorism Advice
