Security Officer 42hrs - Treaty Centre, Hounslow

Purpose of the Role

The Security Officer reports to the Site Security Manager regarding the overall support and delivery of security on site. On a day-to-day basis, however, task allocation is managed by the Security Controllers or Team Leader as defined by the site.

You will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are consistently provided to both clients and visitors. As the public face of the security team, professionalism is essential at all times. A can-do attitude is crucial in this influential role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Be part of a team in a roster pattern
  • Ready interaction with all visitors and tenants, delivering a world-class customer-focused service
  • Conduct regular patrols of the centre as directed, following a proactive security strategy
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, centre processes, and external regulatory bodies
  • Provide a timely response to all security incidents and events
  • Maintain professionalism, politeness, courtesy, and helpfulness at all times
  • Adhere to strict uniform requirements and uphold exemplary personal grooming standards
  • Proactively assist visitors, offering support where opportunities arise
  • Ensure the centre remains safe and non-threatening for all individuals
  • Manage incidents in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Liaise with Security Controllers and Site Security Manager, coordinating responses and supporting colleagues
  • Efficiently handle emergencies, including fires and bomb scares, keeping the team and clients updated
  • Demonstrate intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring/surveilling suspicious individuals while logging and reporting incidents accurately
  • Prevent unauthorised access by banned persons
  • Assist third parties or contractors, ensuring adherence to company policies
  • Maintain continuous monitoring of centre radio systems with correct procedures
  • Oversee and update incident and health & safety records
  • Liaise regularly with management, providing feedback, implementing solutions, and promoting process improvements
  • Report any security-related issues that may impair safety to the Site Security Manager
  • Support internal/external audits as required
  • Embed continuous improvement within security delivery
  • Perform additional duties as needed for business operations
  • Work in the security control room once fully trained
  • Act as an ambassador for the centre and security team

Requirements

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate clearly with senior management/colleagues
  • Outgoing personality with a customer-centric approach
  • Self-sufficiency in unsupervised work
  • Calm under pressure, ensuring quick decision-making
  • Smart appearance aligned with company standards
  • Flexibility and adaptability across shift timings

Qualifications and Experience (Essential)

  • Valid SIA Frontline & CCTV licences
  • Experience in a customer-focused security or service role
  • Five-year checkable employment record
  • First Aid at Work certification (or willingness to undertake)
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training (desirable)

Working Arrangements

  • Hours: 42 hours per week
  • Rota: 4 on-duty shifts, 4 off
  • Shift Type: Mix of day and night rotations

Remuneration

  • £14.50 per hour
