Purpose of the Role
As a Security Officer, your primary responsibility will be to secure and monitor assigned locations, ensuring the safety of both property and personnel. You will implement security protocols and deliver exceptional customer service, acting as a point of contact for staff and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities
Security Operations
- Perform routine patrols of the premises, including retail outlet, car parks, and surrounding perimeter
- Monitor CCTV systems and utilize security equipment including alarms
- Control access points by monitoring entries and exits to restricted areas
- Manage key holding procedures and conduct security checks at opening and closing
- Report any incidents or irregularities promptly and accurately

- Respond promptly to security breaches and emergency situations
- Act as first responder to medical emergencies and provide First Aid when required
- Detain individuals suspected of criminal activity in accordance with Scottish law
- Liaise with Police Scotland, emergency services, and Management as required
- Document daily activities and prepare detailed incident reports in accordance with company procedures
Customer Service & Public Safety
- Deliver excellent customer service and assistance to visitors, tenants, and contractors
- Assist shoppers with directions, general enquiries, and emergency situations
- Manage crowd control during peak trading periods and special events
- Maintain a professional and approachable presence at all times
Health & Safety Compliance
- Conduct fire safety checks and respond to fire alarm activations
- Assist with emergency evacuations following established procedures
- Report health and safety hazards and defects promptly
- Ensure compliance with all site-specific security protocols and legal requirements
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment for employees and visitors

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Strong understanding of security protocols and surveillance techniques
- Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to communicate effectively and remain calm under pressure
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Physical fitness to conduct extended patrols and respond to incidents
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to shift work
- Flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Working Hours - 44hrs
Salary - £13.30/hr
