Retail Security Officer – M&S
Location: M&S Worcester – 39 High Street, Worcester, WR1 2QN
Salary: £13.58 per hour
Hours: Guaranteed 40+ per week

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Customer Experience
- Create a welcoming, supportive retail environment.
- Greet and assist customers from the moment they enter the store.
- Provide professional support to both customers and colleagues.
Loss Prevention & Security
- Prevent loss and respond to incidents to safeguard stores and goods.
- Identify security risks and support safe working practices.
- Work with store teams to maintain high standards in security protocols.

Digital & Operational Duties
- Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, for incident management.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with security procedures.
Emergency & Crisis Management
- Stay calm and professional during high-pressure situations.
- Follow emergency procedures with confidence and quick decision-making.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with store colleagues to uphold operational standards.
- Foster a positive, team-driven atmosphere.
Flexibility & Adaptability
- Handle unexpected challenges in a dynamic retail setting.
- Adjust to changing needs with rapid problem-solving.
Requirements
- Previous security experience is highly desirable (recommended)
- SIA licence is desirable but not essential (M&S may offer support for obtaining one)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, confident, and professional demeanour
- Proactive mindset with the ability to make quick, sound decisions
- A genuine passion for customer service and safety
Additional Information
- Candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history in the UK.
