- Salary: £30,169.00 per year
- Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts:
- 2 days (07:00–19:00 hrs)
- 2 nights (19:00–07:00 hrs)
- 4 days off
About the Role
As a Security Officer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, you will ensure a safe, secure, and professional environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Your responsibilities include patrolling premise areas, monitoring surveillance systems, enforcing hospital policies, assisting in emergencies, and providing first-class customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated hospital areas to maintain security.
- Monitor security cameras and alarms to identify and address potential threats.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies (medical, security breaches, etc.).
- Support the management of access control systems and visitor procedures.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, local law enforcement, and emergency services.
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Requirements
Essential
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military (preferred).
- Clear DBS (standard level checks).
- Valid SIA licence (Security Industry Authority).
- Full 5-year address and 5-year work/education history.
Preferred
- Strong communication and customer-focused skills.
- Clear written documentation abilities (reports, incident logs).
- Familiarity with security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure.
- Additional security-related training (advantageous).
- Basic IT proficiency (computers, emails, security systems).
