📍 Location: Stanford-le-Hope, SS17 9LW
💰 Pay: £13.12 per hour
📅 Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week – 4 on, 4 off
About the Role
We’re looking for a professional security officer who is vigilant, detail-oriented and passionate about creating a safe environment. Whether it’s deterring unauthorised access, responding to incidents or ensuring smooth operations, your role is at the heart of everything we do.
Grade: 3.1 (Site-Based)

Key Responsibilities
You’ll protect people, property, and assets with integrity and diligence by:
- Preventing unauthorised access to premises and classified areas.
- Monitoring fire alarms, CCTV, and intruder systems in real-time.
- Conducting internal and external patrols (scheduled as per site requirements).
- Performing routine checks of alarms, CCTV systems, emergency exits, and barriers.
- Managing access controls by issuing visitor passes and key management.
- Locking and unlocking site premises as specified in site procedures.
- Ensuring all security equipment (eg mechanical locks, access points, policy procedures) maintains optimal functionality.
- Maintaining accurate records (incident logs, visitor entries, CCTV footage hat must be invoked).
- Offering customer service and guidance to staff, contractors, and visitors while upholding safeguarding standards.

Requirements
We’re looking for smart, capable individuals who embody Vigilance and Helpfulness. Specifically, we seek:
- A valid SIA Security Operatives Licence (required).
- Availability to work days and weekends with flexible schedules if required.
- Right to work in the UK with at least 5 years checkable history (arbitrary but indicative).
- Sharp Observation Skills: Able to recognise risks or incidents promptly.
- Physically demanding work) to stand throughout shifts (standing/binge minding tasks).
- Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Reliability & discretion: Dependable and professional in high-pressure situations.
Ideally:
- Prior experience as a security assistant.
