Retail Security Officer – M&S
Join M&S as a Security Officer in Southampton and contribute to creating safe, welcoming, and thriving communities.
Location & Salary
- M&S West Quay 23 Harbour Parade, Southampton, SO15 1QB
- Salary: £13.96 per hour
- Hours: Guaranteed 40+ per week

Responsibilities
Customer Excellence
- Create a friendly open-door culture in-store
- Support customers and colleagues with proactive, professional service
Security & Risk Management
- Prevent loss, handle incidents, and identify risks
- Ensure safe working practices
- Protect store assets and reputation
Technology & Teamwork
- Operate digital systems: mobile reporting, body-worn cameras
- Collaborate closely with staff to uphold store standards

Requirements
- Preferred/Desirable:
- Prior security experience
- SIA license (company-funded training for eligible candidates)
- Essential:
- Strong verbal communication
- Professional, level headed demeanour
- Customer service mindset and situational awareness
- Clear security awareness (new recruits receive training)
- This position requires:
- Five years checkable UK work history
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (i.e. and qualify as security)
