Role Objective
To work as a Core Officer, providing a high-level of customer service at client sites:
- Be the first point of contact for all staff and visitors entering the building
- Liaise with the client and stakeholders
- Collaborate with the wider Security Team and all on-site service lines
- Ensure the protection of persons and property, providing a safe and secure environment
Service Delivery
The responsibilities include:
Protection Duties
- Maintain good order on site, protecting individuals from violence, abuse, and accidents
- Protect the client’s property (including against fire and water damage) and premium assets
- Prevent legal violations and non-compliance with Unitrust disciplinary codes and policies
- Report breaches to the relevant management
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and means of escape are clear
- Ensure building evacuation procedures are adhered to
- Undertake both internal and external patrols and inspections as required by site policies
- Liaise with reception to meet and greet visitors and enforce security procedures (standing for extended periods may be required)

Administration & Liaison
- Manage the production and administration of access cards for tenants, visitors, and contractors
- Monitor, escalate, and respond to alarms for CCTV, Security, and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- As part of the Facilities Management Response Team, assist with emergency procedures per training and instructions
- Liaise with contractors for the client and tenants, especially during tenant fit-outs
Reporting & Documentation
- Escalate issues (both security-related and maintenance) to the Facilities Team via detailed emails and incident reports
- Complete permit-to-work forms as required
- Carry out escort duties for contractors and deliveries
Prohibited Areas & Admin
- Ensure unauthorised access to prohibited areas is prevented
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with assigned duties
- Manage ad-hoc projects/tasks as directed by the Facilities Team
- Monitor and respond to CCTV and intruder alarms
- Liaise with Building Services for out-of-hours emergencies
Role Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Hold a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Training Organisation basic qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Hold a valid full UK driving licence
- Be aged 25+ (for insurance policy purposes)

- First aid qualification (training can be provided internally if required)
Training Expectations:
- Minimum of 2–3 days on-site training after appointment

Patience and diplomacy in interactions with clients, tenants, and visitors across different crises and stress situations

High level of physical fitness to perform patrol and emergency response duties effectively
Role Context
This is a critical role necessitating strict requirements in attendance, punctuality, and professionalism.
