SECURITY OFFICER

Location: Mailbox, Birmingham

Hours: 42 hours per week, 4 on/4 off; 2 days/2 nights

Rate of pay: £13.5/Hour

The primary purpose of the role is to support the control and management of the security provision across the Mailbox estate, supporting key commercial occupiers at the Mailbox in Birmingham. The post holder will work closely with the relevant occupiers to ensure that the contract deliverables are achieved and that exceptional standards are achieved.

The security officer plays an integral part in ensuring that consistently high standards of security, safety and customer care are always delivered at Mailbox.

The post holder will be responsible to the Duty Manager of the day.

Duties

  • The ability to liaise and communicate with the control room to ensure safety for all customers and retailers.
  • Managing daily enquiries and incidents which may arise throughout the operation of The Mailbox.
  • Working closely with all other departments to ensure effective communication on all operational issues, such as maintenance or cleaning.
  • Capability to use own initiative is essential and to be a good team player working well as part of a team and being able to prioritise workload is important.
  • A positive and friendly attitude when dealing with customers is a key attribute.
  • A committed, right first-time approach is essential.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • Shift pattern will be flexible to suit the needs of the business, opportunity for overtime available.
  • Hours of work will be 07:00 – 19:00 for day shifts and 19:00 – 07:00 for night shifts. The successful candidate will be expected to work a ‘4 on, 4 off' shift pattern of 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts.
  • Punctuality is an essential requirement of this position, and all officers will be required to report for duty a minimum of 10 minutes prior to the commencement of their shift.
  • Uniform will be provided.
