This role serves and supports the patient delivery system, minimizing disruption, renders service support as needed to run hospital operations, and strives to provide an exceptional positive experience to all people. This role will be responsible for critical incident management, ensures responsible care of patient valuables, weapons in our control and completing property inventory logs as required, ensure that patient valuables are well maintained, and items are accounted for, establishes an active security presence, providing surveillance, personal escort, courier service, vehicle assistance and inspections. This position requires knowledge of acceptable norms within the environment, including specific knowledge to respond safely and quickly to all designated Community Health Network locations. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Current Indiana Driver’s License required. One year of security experience in a healthcare or related setting preferred. Must obtain Hazmat Certification Level 1 and Indiana License to Carry a Handgun within one year from hire. Ability to utilize departmental policy and the Use of Force Continuum guidelines, e.g., AIDET, AVADE de-escalation skills, Defensive Tactics, Pepper Spray, TASER, citizen arrest. Assists Law Enforcement. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to perform basic computer functions. Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment effectively. Leadership skills. Organizational skills. Ability to work under stressful situations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to be detail oriented.
