We’re recruiting Security Officers (Core & Relief) to support a large, high‑profile client site in Yeovil. This opportunity is ideal whether you’re seeking the stability of a core role or the variety and flexibility of relief work. You’ll operate across days, nights, and weekends, averaging 42 hours per week, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. As a Security Officer, you’ll play a vital role in protecting people, property, and premises—stepping up when it matters most. You’ll work within a professional, forward‑thinking environment where your vigilance, adaptability, and people‑focused approach genuinely make a difference. Whether you’re already SIA‑licensed or completely new to the security industry, we focus on potential over experience. No SIA Licence is required—full training and ongoing support are provided from day one, giving you the opportunity to develop valuable skills and progress within the security sector. Job Description What you'll be doing: Prevent and deter unauthorised access, monitoring fire/intruder alarms and CCTV. Conduct internal and external security patrols as per Assignment Instructions. Manage traffic control and parking restrictions when required. Operate and test security equipment, including radios and other devices. Manage keys, locking/unlocking duties, and maintain security logs and records. Issue visitor and contractor passes and manage lost property. Support staff, visitors, and contractors with safety guidance while safeguarding the premises. Report hazards, faults, unsafe practices, accidents and maintain clear emergency routes. Respond to First Aid equipment usage and investigate fire alarm activations. Report at‑risk property and prevent loss, waste, and unnecessary energy use. Apply ‘stop and search’ policies, conduct initial investigations, and report incidents. Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve visitor or staff issues professionally. Maintain high standards of uniform, behaviour, and presentation. Complete all paperwork accurately, follow handover procedures, and adhere to Assignment Instructions. Perform additional duties as required and uphold the core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. Qualifications What we’re looking for: We’re looking for someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have: Night shift role includes regular patrols covering up to approximately 6 miles per shift. Distances may be higher during the initial training period, so a good level of physical fitness is essential. Valid SIA Licence (full training and ongoing support provided) Eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance Full UK driving licence Right to work in the UK, with a minimum 5‑year checkable history Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal Customer‑focused, polite, tactful, and discreet Proactive and detail‑oriented, with strong self‑motivation Excellent organisational, customer service, and communication skills Due to the nature of this opportunity, candidates must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) Clearance - Must be a British National and have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
